Dear Friends,
Like all of you, we at GAI are keenly aware of concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), and we are tracking developments and public health guidance closely.
At this time, there are no changes to our current class schedule. The Capitol campus remains open to the public, and health and safety measures are being undertaken to protect members, staff, and visitors. Similarly, the Georgetown University campus, including the School of Continuing Studies where we hold some classes, is currently fully operational. Georgetown administrators are assessing conditions day by day and providing updates and information at www.georgetown.edu/coronavirus/ .
If you are registered for an upcoming class, we will be reaching out with updates, and you will hear from us right away if any decisions are made that affect our schedule. In the meantime, we realize some of you may have concerns or may be under travel or telework restrictions. If you are prevented from attending a class due to health concerns or employer guidance, please let us know and we will work with you to address your needs. And to reiterate the guidance of CDC and many others, please do not come to a class if you are sick.
This is a fast-moving situation, we will continue to monitor it with the safety of our students, speakers and staff in mind. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.
In other news, the annual appropriations process has kicked into gear on Capitol Hill. In this month’s newsletter, Senior Fellow Mark Harkins offers a former staffer’s perspective on what this process looks like from inside the Hill offices.
Wishing you all a safe and healthy spring,
Kristin
