Where to Stay

The majority of our open enrollment courses are conducted in the House and Senate office buildings on Capitol Hill (unless otherwise indicated). On some occasions, courses may be conducted in Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies meeting space. Research Seminar courses which are part of the certificate program curriculum are almost always conducted in the Government Affairs Institute offices here in Georgetown (Washington, DC). Enrolled participants will receive an e-mail confirmation approximately two weeks out that specifies the exact location of a course. You can always contact us by e-mail at gai@georgetown.edu if you have any additional questions regarding the location of a course.

Participants are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements. However, listed here are some hotels that are within a reasonable distance from Capitol Hill. The prevailing government per diem may be available with valid government identification, but you should confirm this when making your reservation.

Please note, we have heard from some of our participants that the hotels in Rosslyn and Crystal City are more reasonable for per diem purposes. They are also conveniently located near National Airport. Metrorail is accessible to these hotels in Virginia and provide an easy way of getting to Capitol Hill.
