Understanding and Working with Congress
Our tailored course on Understanding and Working with Congress is conducted around the country and can be designed to run in length anywhere from two hours to a full day in length. It is designed to enable participants to more effectively represent their programs and policies by gaining a better understanding of the relation of Congress to their organizational goals. The Congressional Operations Seminar is the first course that most individual participants take with the Government Affairs Institute. This five-day core course provides a comprehensive look at how Congress operates and how it interacts with those both inside and outside government.
Over the course of the week, participants will hear from – and be afforded the opportunity to ask questions of – Members of Congress, congressional committee and personal staff, political scientists, lobbyists, and news media representatives. (Course Description)
