GAI | January 5, 2017

GAI Senior Fellow Josh Huder was recently quoted in two articles discussing congressional Republicans’ challenges in governing and their relationship with the incoming President Trump.  “The Republican Party is going through a bit of a metamorphosis with regards to its base,”….“There’s a lot of uncertainty on the Hill right now. How much are these very conservative members of Congress going to cow to the views of their new president?” You can read the entire story in the online news magazine Vox here.

And in a CBC News article Josh further elaborates on the challenges of repealing the Affordable Care Act. “You can’t just get rid of insurance for 15-20 million people and not face some consequence.”….”The promise to repeal Obamacare is a cornerstone of their platform, but which parts do we want to get rid of?”
