Certificate Program
As previously stated, the required program of study consists of five courses:
- one course from Group A;
- two courses from Group B; and,
- two courses from Group C.
Group A
Choose ONE
- Congressional Operations Seminar
- Seminar for Executives on Legislative Operations
- Congressional Briefing Conference (or Capitol Hill Workshop) of four or more days. (This is normally arranged by a Federal department or agency for a group of its employees.)
- Capitol Hill Fellowship Program
Group B
Choose TWO
- Advanced Legislative Process
- Advanced Budget and Appropriations Process
- Preparing and Delivering Congressional Testimony
- Executive - Legislative Branch Relations
Group C
Choose TWO
Any of the courses in Group C can be arranged, on a limited basis, as an Independent Study for participants outside of the metropolitan Washington, DC, area.
Courses in Group C are conducted at the Government Affairs Institute or on Capitol Hill. Each course meets four times for two hours in the late afternoon, over the course of 12 weeks.
